The New Universal Hex Frog Juicer automatically and instantly switches the polarity of the frog as the engine passes over any DCC-powered turnout. No more complicated wiring or electro-mechanical switches are needed. Instead, you connect power to the Frog Juicer and a single wire to the frog, and the Frog Juicer takes care of the rest!

The Universal Hex Frog Juicers will work with any DCC system.

Only need to switch one or two frogs? Check out the Universal Mono Frog Juicer or Universal Dual Frog Juicer!

Each Hex Frog Juicer can control the polarity of DCC power for up to six frogs on all switches, including turnouts, wyes, 3-ways, slips, crossings, and crossovers. Using a Hex Frog Juicer is especially helpful for double crossovers and crossings, as it dramatically simplifies the wiring for these switches.

The Hex Frog Juicer can be used to switch the frogs for up to three reverse loops or wyes. (You must use two frog control outputs for each reverse loop and wye.)

  • Eliminates the need for mechanical switches to switch the frog polarity when the turnout is switched
  • Instant switching means no interruption to the engine or loss of sound
  • Significantly simplifies frog wiring - especially for crossings and double crossovers
  • Compatible with any DCC system (It will not work with DC)
  • Simple to connect

If you have ever struggled to wire the frogs on a switch, seriously consider using the Hex Frog Juicer. It is simple to use and just plain works.

How The Hex Frog Juicer Works

The Frog Juicer consists of six microprocessor-controlled SPDT electronic switches. Each switch can sense and control the polarity of one frog. When the circuit detects a short greater than about 1.7 amps (plus/minus 10% with two amps as the upper limit), it instantly switches the polarity of the frog. Two amps are below the reverse polarity detection point for most DCC circuit breakers and booster units, so the Frog Juicer will react before a fault is detected.

In addition, the Frog Juicer switches so quickly that the brief current pulse will go unnoticed by the DCC system.

Two amps are also enough current to power a single locomotive, and since only one locomotive can be on a frog at a time, it is all the power you need. The frogs must be electrically isolated and have no other connections to the track or DCC system.

What a great device. Used it to replace Tortoise contacts wired to frogs on an n Scale yard lead and eliminated a ton of wiring. Easily installed and best of all, it works as advertised.

The Frog Juicers are a simple method of powering turnout Frogs. Very easy to hook up and work seamlessly. I don't like using them as a reverser. They have a jumper to pair sets of outputs, but it seems to have glitches. For powering a frog, it is ideal.

Your frog juicer took care of my locomotive hesitation I was experiencing. Thank You, Gary

A reduced overall rating here due to a Canadian business that doesn't have an option to show pricing in Canadian currency. Very disappointed in that. Beyond that though great service from order placement to delivery and appreciate the step by step update of the order status.

As usual with Fast Tracks, delivery was quick even though from Canada to the US. Product ordered was correct. Great instructions and more than adequate packaging. I use Fast Tracks turnout building products and I have three Hex Frog Juicers now. What else can you ask for. Oh, I also did attend their turnout construction class at the Cleveland NMRA convention. Great company and well run. Thanks Wayne

Basically a good product. I run a few of these with no problems. But the last two boards I have installed; on one the intermittent short light stays on; five of the frogs are powered and switch normally but there is no power to frog 5. The other board, the LED to frog 1 goes red, but will not go green. Power switches normally, so no big deal

I just connected the frog juicer last night, to one frog, so far, and it works as advertised and to perfection. The engine went through the frog easily, with no hesitation. Although I was not having any issues with the mechanical switches that come with the Bullfrog switch machine, the frog juicer eliminates that worry that the all of the mechanical points might not mesh, or a switch would come loose due to use. Now, the Bullfrog(s) can do their primary job of switching points, rather than switching points and power. My only concern is, I wish it had a cover.

What a great product! Simplifies wiring plus eliminates any potential contact issues associated with alternative methods such as DIP switches for power routing. I installed my Frog Juicer downstream from my PSX circuit breaker board and not even a hiccup from that.

Awesome..planing on ordering couple more..found your site looking around for exactly what this product does..awesome..

Excellent product. Used to control an electofrog xcrossing. Simple to wire and working well.

Terrific as an Auto-Reverse switch in DCC. Combine with compatible circuit breaker for integrated overall layout protection.

Easy to use and it works

Seems to be a good device. When it works it works great. The first one I bought worked for several months without issue. Then I stopped switching and created a short on the system. Sometimes the short light would come on and stay on. But would not switch. Bought a second card and this one so far is working great. Hopefully this was a one time issue.

Works great! I used this to power some yard switch frogs that I left hand thrown. Does the job and has no issues. I wired this juicer before my NCE circuit breaker as the the instructions recommend and I have had no issues with it doing its job.
