HO, 7 scale inches (0.08" / 2mm) thick pre-gapped, copper cladded PC Board Crossties are designed to match the height of the wood ties used for HO scale straight and curved trackwork and are pre-gapped for DC and DCC compatibility.
Fast Tracks CopperHead PC Board ties are machined to shape rather than sheared or stamped, producing a perfectly flat tie with no twisting or warping and very clean, crisp edges. The copper cladding is applied to both sides of the tie with double isolation gaps cut close to the rail on one side, making it easy to disguise the gap during final finishing.

LOVE 'EM. Pre-gapped is very convenient. I'm not hand laying in this application but using them to hold rail in gauge on module ends. Easy to work with and well made. Plus where else are you going to get them, and a such a good price?

The use of the PC tie frets are very efficient to use and extremely precise. Great product. My only concern is that the the ties are provided with the two gaps on the top only, and not the bottom. I have found that an errant rail spike can cause a short if both the top and THE bottom are not gapped, so I have to manually use the tools to cut that gap on the bottom of the ties. It would make the product even better if both top AND bottom were gapped for safety I also find that I need to spend some additional time sanding the ends of the ties after cutting them from the fret to insure they always fit the gig, and scuffing the top surface to improve the soldering. I wish there was a slightly better way to save time doing these two steps, but all else is just a world class product!

I ordered 10 frets, and 4 or 5 of them had places on the backside where the copper layer was gone. The fronts were all fine, so this won't matter in normal use - except that sometimes if I make a mistake I end up desoldering the front and flipping the tie over to use the back as a second try rather than toss it and use another. The backsides of these aren't pre-gapped, but I could do that. So for the ties on the frets that had missing copper (not all the ties), I can't use the backside. Not a huge deal, and I wasn't going to say anything until I got an email asking for a review. The ties will work fine for the first try. I've ordered lots of frets of other pcb ties from fast tracks and never had a problem with the 1/16" thick turnout or crossover ties, this is the first time there's ever been any issue. Maybe just a one-off bad batch of board material.
