HO, 1/16" (0.062" / 1.6mm) thick CopperHead PC Board Ties are produced using Fast Track's unique routing process that allows us to offer ties with a very clean edge, precise dimensions and are always perfectly flat. The copper cladding is paper thin, allowing you to cut the copper with a small file or rotary tool to isolate the rails. Both sides of the tie are copper-cladded.
Copper cladded fiberglass PC Board ties are used at strategic points in hand-laid trackwork to hold the rails in gauge permanently. The remaining ties are filled in with wood ties.
When painted, the PC Board ties will become nearly invisible, blending in with the wood ties. While some sizes of CopperHead PC board ties are not as high as standard wood ties, this will not be an issue. Once soldered to rail, the thinner PC board ties will "float" between the wood ties, the space is hidden when the track is ballasted.
Using our printable tie templates as a guide, cut the ties to the lengths you need for your turnout. While specifically designed to fit all Fast Tracks assembly fixtures, they can also be used for any hand constructed trackwork.
To speed up cutting the PC board ties to length, check out our TieBreaker tie cutting tools!
Sold on a fret of 27 ties.

Precision cut, can't go wrong with these ties.
Ron Read (verified owner) –
Excellent product. Great way to add power to track. Nice and simple to use.
Thomas Hawkins (verified owner) –
Just got the ties. Will be using them to build a turnout in place. Used the frog and point fixtures borrowed from a friend to make parts, like them very much.
David Paterson (verified owner) –
Very useful with turnout assembly jig.

In my case of Shinohara Turnout code 100, converting DCC friendly, PCB breadth is better to widen to 4.5 mm since gap of ties at point rails is 5 mm, wider is easy to drill for push/pull rods.
Joel Schraven (verified owner) –
Used these to upgrade some shinohara turnouts. It was an easier process that I thought. The product is excellent and easy to use. I'll try making a whole turnout next. Also, the service from Fastracks was excellent. Rec'd shipment very quickly and economically.
Allan Roecker (verified owner) –
Great product, easy to use, perfect fit for the fixture.

The previously available ties were stamped out, often leaving a threadlike wisp of copper. If not removed, this could drive you nuts tracking down an electrical short. The current version, machined rather than stamped, eliminates this issue.

I've used many of Fast Tracks products, and not found a clunker in the bunch. All very well designed, and extremely useful. In building my layout, the thing I most dreaded was building turnouts/switches; to my surprise, it's now my most enjoyable and satisfying activity in creating my dream layout (who'd a thought !). Thank you Fast Tracks !

The PC Board Turnout Ties were cleanly cut with very little cleanup required. They worked very well as replacement throwrods for the older turnouts that I reused .
Fred Pariselli (verified owner) –
Met my expectation, easy to solder rails to surface. Excellent quality.
Stan Jones (verified owner) –
I use these PC board turnout ties to convert old Micro Engineering turnouts to DCC format. They are the best product I have found for doing this.
Richard Hatton (verified owner) –
Great product
Normand Levert (verified owner) –
This is a good product. I've fallen into the habit of filing / sanding the sides of the ties and using a felt pen to color the sides black. Don't forget to bevel the tips of throwbars so they don't catch on the roadbed. One can also narrow the throwbars a little bit with sanding. I prefer to cut my insulation gaps before hand using a razor saw.

Good stuff!! & easy to use!!!
Steve Dow (verified owner) –
I have a small bandsaw and cut the ties from the frets all at once. I have used PC ties from other suppliers and the Fast Tracks PC ties are cleaner and simpler. I use a sheet of scotchbrite to polish up the ties before soldering. The scotchbright removes any burrs that might be present.
Jeff Jaekel (verified owner) –
Works great
Tom Carr (verified owner) –
Very easy to use
Don Stewart (verified owner) –
I really like these PCB ties as they are smoothly cut with no flash on the sides. Other ties are cut and leave ragged edges requiring filing. These are cleanly cut, requiring filing to clean up one end.

I was looking for a certain switch track, found this site, watch most of the videos. I couldn't find the switch track I wanted on other sites and after reviewing your site and what you have that I can do to make what I need, I've decided to do it. I've ordered what I wanted and I have been taking my time making it and enjoy doing it as well. Thank You.
Kenneth Glover (verified owner) –
These are the best PCB ties to use with the FastTracks turnout jigs.
Mark Gietz (verified owner) –
I am impressed with the quality of the ties. There are quite consistent in quality from front and back. There is a little bit more sharpness on the back, but it is readily dealt with as Tim discusses in his video. I've found that by painting them tan, and then using a wash of the same stain I stain my ties with, they are virtually indistinguishable from the wooden ties I use.

This PC turnout ties work Great with the turnout jigs!! The delivery time was also great. Thank Dave Phillips

Love it

I am VERY happy and pleased with the PC Ties. I would, however, like to see less waste, when lazer cutting them. You're wasting almost 10 ties, with such a wide cut separating them. Make the cuts thinner, and you will get more out of the PC board you use!
Donald Anderson (verified owner) –
These are an ingenious ties by which rail can be soldered to the key ties. It is important to cut insulation gaps before soldering the rail to the ties as instructed. My first two attempts were unsatisfactory because among other things, the file would not cut through some wayward solder very easily. Also, using a multimeter to check continuity as you go is very helpful, at least in the first few builds. A great product and in this case the price is right. the price is right.
Russell Sampson (verified owner) –
I purchased this product for the 20 plus curved turnouts in my new layout. The Copper Had PC Board Turnout Ties really made the building process easy. They are very well made and easy to use. I highly recommend this product for the serious model railroader.
Matthew Lentz (verified owner) –
These are essential items. It can be expensive to start using this system, but PC Board ties can get you in the door for a small price. If you can't afford to go all in, then get just these ties. I use them to rebuild old snap switches and old Atlas and Tru Scale switches. Watch the videos while you're doing a rebuild. Once you get the hang of it is when getting the full set will really pay off. I use the old rebuilt switches in places where I need reliability. I use the good switches in places where people can see them. If you're on a tight budget, start here. Get your feet wet and then start getting the tools and jigs and you'll never again consider buying switches that weren't made by you.

John Golden (verified owner) –
An excellent product! Great value for the price. Easy to use, smartly constructed and packaged. I use them to build my own turnouts and throwbars in Code 55 and Code 70 and they are a superior product.
Dwight Hall (verified owner) –
These are very well designed, easy to use, fit the Fast Tracks jig perfectly. When painted, they look just like all the other ties.
Greg Brule (verified owner) –
Love these!
Stephen Richardson (verified owner) –
Excellent product, well made. The few longer ties needed for some situations can be made by careful grinding of the fret to match the ties. I have used these to make dozens of turnouts and other custom trackwork.
Carlo Ritter (verified owner) –
A consumable when building turnouts. I like the double comb design, cleverly made. However, there is room for improvement in the precision of machining. One side of the ties were 2/10 mm wider than the other. This is visible and can have a functional impact when spoiling the fit in a jig.
Paul Descarries (verified owner) –
A must for turnouts building!
Michael Costa (verified owner) –
I use these when building my Fast Tracks switches. They are very accurately made and consistent from multiple orders I’ve placed. Can’t say no great things about this company!
Mike Hughes (verified owner) –
I always keep a bunch of these on hand for when the mood strikes!
Greg Brule (verified owner) –
These are great, I’m even using the outside PC portions for larger ties at table joints to better secure the ends!

These are tops!! No need to check elsewhere. So easy to use.
Drew Toner (verified owner) –
Once you get them cut apart, they are a great product!
Greg Brule (verified owner) –
Very nice to work with. Used with the Tie Breaker, makes quick work!
Michael Santos (verified owner) –
Easy to cut and soldier, minimal effort to file each one prior to placing in the turnout jig. Very happy with quality.
