Fast Tracks assembly fixtures will help you build high-quality hand-laid track that:

  • Is Highly Accurate - Build turnouts that stay in perfect gauge - permanently
  • Performs Perfectly - Eliminates track related derailments
  • Is Economical - Build hundreds of turnouts with one fixture
  • Is Easy To Build - No special skills are needed
  • Can Be Built Quickly - Build a turnout in less than an hour!
  • Looks Great! - Get results that rival even the most experienced modelers

If you order a Fast Tracks assembly fixture, we highly recommend that you consider purchasing matching PointForm and StockAid filing tools. This will make the construction of the switch and frog points much easier.

In addition to code 83 rail, you will also need to purchase matching 0.0625" (1.6mm), (7 scale inches) thick, CopperHead PC board turnout ties manufactured by Fast Tracks.

Click on the Supplies Tab above to add additional items needed to build turnouts to your order. Try our Supplies Calculator to determine the consumable items you will need for your trackwork project.

I was using Fast track templets to make my turnouts, not the smoothest , finally purchased a #6 fixture, a world of difference.

Flawless turnouts, great tooling, fast to build once you've done a few... plus very grateful for the downloadable templates -- makes foolproof final track design a breeze (and keeps you from cheating...)

The picture is misleading as it shows a DVD and a turn out with the fixture. Neither one come with the fixture. Since the DVD is free, I would have thought they would spend the extra 50 cents to send it with the fixture.

Fantastic fixture. Just getting back into the hobby. With this turnout assembly fixture, along with helpful videos, I am now able to build a complete turnout in under an hour. Highly recommend.

Assembly fixture is precision! Watching the video tutorial ensures anyone can build a turnout. My second was much better than my first, My third will be even better!

I've used many of Fast Tracks products, and not found a clunker in the bunch. All very well designed, and extremely useful. In building my layout, the thing I most dreaded was building turnouts/switches; to my surprise, it's now my most enjoyable and satisfying activity in creating my dream layout (who'd a thought !). Thank you Fast Tracks !

A little disappointed that I did not receive the instruction video but luckily a friend lent me his. Otherwise they make great turn outs.

Works just fine and produces an excellent #6 turnout -- quite happy.

Having built multiple turnouts using Fast Tracks templates, I found that the jig gave obvious advantages, in that they do not require the massive amount of pinning that the template does. Don't get me wrong, I have made some great turnouts with the templates, but the ease of use with the jig is very rewarding. Using the jig and the Fast Track PCB ties makes for a much quicker and cleaner turnout, and a more accurate and true to scale product. I bought both the #6 and the #8. A very great product.

These templates work great. I've made dozens of turnouts with mine over a number of years and I love that it is easy to modify the turnout and (if you make enough) they are much cheaper than commercial turnouts.

I am a first time switch builder and this fixture is hands down the way to go. Be sure to also get the point forming Jig and the Stock Aid filing Jig. These three jigs make switch building fun and very accurate.

I bought this template about a month ago and have built 3 switches so far. Using the instructional videos and forming tools, I found the process relatively easy and, after three switches, can build a complete switch in about 2 hours (interruptions excluded). The template is well built and should last a lifetime and the switches built with it are very realistic looking and operate flawlessly.

Great tool to achieve great results. All 6 turnouts i built so far in two days have turned out flawless. If you are serious about your workmanship and you want trouble free turnouts, then, GET IT !!!

Excellent product. Didn't receive the dvd with my order.

This is my second HO Scale #6 turnout assembly fixture. I also have HO Scale #6 3-way turnout. My first 3-way was not prefect, so it served as practice. After that the finished turnouts work excellently and are DCC friendly. The instructions are superb.

Extremely accurate jig!! So far I've built many turnouts and its still dead accurate. Very well made product, thank you Fast Tracks!!!

These products are the total game changer in my opinion I've been around model railroading all since I could walk and iam a former locomotive engineer with CR and NS iam amazed on how easy it is to lay out a switch I was used to doing it in place on the layout that's the way the old guys did it now you can turn out one of these switches in about a hour depending on how skilled you are with handling everything but if you want awesome looking prototypical switches look no forward to Fast Tracks you'll be amazed at what you thought you couldn't do and do it CHEERS

We thought you might like this short video we produced showing the process of cutting rail gaps to isolate the frog in a Fast Tracks turnout electrically. This step is critical and can not be skipped. Otherwise, the track will have a dead short and can not be powered.

Painting Trackwork Slideshow

We are often asked if we have made a video on painting trackwork, and to date, we have not. Back in 2009, we produced a slideshow for MRH Magazine on how we finish turnouts, but it is no longer available from them, so we reproduced it and uploaded it here.
